Instrument Protection Boxes

Instrument protection boxes used by EHT engineering offer different standards and sizes of enclosure box options to protect field-installed instruments.

Instrument Protection Boxes

Instrument protection boxes used by EHT engineering offer different standards and sizes of enclosure box options to protect field-installed instruments.
The protection boxes are made of a special high-performance glass fibre reinforced polyester (GRP).
This fire-resistant material is extremely tough and highly resistant to damage from chemical and petrochemical environments. It has strength nearly equal to stainless steel and is only one-fourth the weight.

MULTIBOX Instrument Protection Boxes (Top or Bottom Entry)

Multibox

MULTIBOX enclosures are two-piece enclosures that can be mounted vertically or horizontally, with a deep or wide section used as a cover (facilitating access to almost every section of the equipment). Instrumentation is generally manufactured with access to either the top or bottom tubing, excluding the glass surface. They are mounted using C-type rails. They are available in seven standard sizes.

DIABOX™ Instrument Protection Boxes (Rear or bottom entry)

Diabox

DIABOX enclosures feature a two-piece construction with a diagonal opening, providing easy access to field equipment. Tubing entry is typically from the rear or bottom. Three sizes are available, each of which can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

BASIC VARIO Instrument Protection Boxes (Rear, Top, Side Entry)

Basic Vario

BASIC VARIO type protection boxes, designed for wall or floor mounting, are made of Intertec's GRP material, with GRP coverings and foam insulation, providing superior energy savings. They are manufactured in sizes suitable for instrument enclosures and smaller cabinets for a wide range of applications.

MINIBOX Instrument Protection Boxes (With Base Entry)

Minibox

MINIBOX Instrument Protection Boxes are compactly constructed. They can be mounted on a single transmitter. They are sized to provide cost-effective enclosures to protect transmitters from overheating.

UNIBOX Instrument Protection Boxes (Bottom Entry)

Unibox

UNIBOX Instrument Protection Boxes are two-piece protection boxes with a large top half that folds open to provide clear and easy access to the top, front, rear, and sides of field equipment for maintenance. Ideal where transmitters must be accessed through the base.

Safe, Durable and Intelligent Protection Solutions for Sensitive Equipment in Harsh Environments

Measurement and control instruments used in industrial facilities are critical to the safe and efficient operation of processes. However, these devices are highly sensitive to environmental conditions. Harsh environmental factors such as high temperature, humidity, dust, chemical vapors, mechanical impact, and explosive atmospheres can negatively impact instrument performance and lifespan. At EHT Engineering, we offer safe and durable solutions specifically designed for industrial sites with Instrument Protection Enclosures, developed to mitigate these risks.

What is an Instrument Protection Box?

Instrument protection boxes are specialized enclosure systems that isolate and protect field-type measuring instruments (pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, analyzers, etc.) from the external environment. These boxes provide both physical and thermal protection. They can be equipped with heating, ventilation, insulation, and explosion-proof features as needed.

The protection enclosures offered by EHT Engineering are designed for both fixed and mobile applications. Each enclosure is manufactured specifically for the instrument and site conditions.

  • Treatment plants
  • LNG and natural gas stations
  • Paint and solvent production facilities

Protecting sensitive measuring devices used in these fields is critical for process safety and data accuracy.

Heated Protection Boxes

In cold climates or processes where there's a risk of freezing, an integrated heating system is installed inside the enclosure to ensure the proper operation of the instruments. Heated enclosures offered by EHT Engineering:

  • Self-regulating or constant power resistance cables
  • Digital or analog thermostat control
  • Overheating protection
  • Automatic start-up system that provides energy efficiency

These systems maintain measurement accuracy by keeping the operating temperature of the device constant.
