Gutter and Roof Snow-Ice Prevention Cables

Self-Regulating Roof Snow-Ice Prevention Cables
Snow and ice are a major problem for both residential and commercial buildings, but simple, roof-customizable heating cables are a viable option for combating potential ice and frost damage.
What are the features of self-limiting heating cables?
- Simple to Install
- Reliable and longer lasting
- May overlap
- Can be cut to desired length
- Provides energy savings
- It will not overheat roofing materials or cause burn-in damage to plastic/vinyl rain gutters.
Snowfall and ice accumulation on roofs and gutters cause the roof and gutters to freeze, preventing melted snow or rainwater from draining through the gutters. This can lead to problems such as bursting or water leaking from the roof. To prevent this, a roof gutter heating system should be installed.
When power is applied and the temperature rises, the resistance of the carbon material increases, drawing current decreases, and therefore the output power decreases. When temperatures drop, this process reverses, drawing current increases, and the output power increases. This physical property means the heating cable will never overheat, can be installed crosswise, stacked, and operated without a temperature controller (thermostat, PLC, processor).
